My request would have been for the Billy Taylor Trio's There'll Never Be Another You from 1957. I remember being blown away by the left hand line at about 3'25" and how it goes in a different metre for a while - did the guy have two brains or something? I was about 15 years old and it was probably the first time I really listened to what was going on in the music, as opposed to just going "Oh wow!" or something. And the dramatic ending, slowed down and with octaves, and that dramatic switch to the minor for the final decisive tremolo chord. Lucky to find it on utube!
