Thanks JR - just got round to listening to this. In the Comments someone has mentioned being reminded of Keith Jarrett in that clip. Zeitlin would for sure have been on Jarrett's radar by the time he (Jarrett) started finding his own approach in the Charles Lloyd quartet, as Denny had already been around for a few years. For one thing he had already developed that thing referred to by one writer in Jarrett of those sweeping manual flourishes resembling shuffling decks of cards - though KJ would tend to eschew that "possessed" approach in favour of greater discipline later on. It's a shame that Zeitlin has rather slipped the general jazz radar however. Having thought for many years who would have fitted in for comparison with our own Gorden Beck, I now seem to have found our man.

        Guitarist John Russell(1954-2021):

There's a fine tribute to John Russell(a new name to me) from Evan Parker:

“John had a place at the heart of the world scene for improvised music,” writes Evan Parker in this tribute to guitarist and founder of MOPOMOSO John Russell (1954-2021), who passed awa…

What's good about this band is that they reach into Wayne's catalogue to play some rarities - it's not all "Speak No Evil". Though they do end this set with a fine version of "El Gaucho".

Gilad Hekselman g, Mark Turner ts, Matt Brewer b, Kendrick Scott d.

Mark Turner just needs to grow a beard to look just like Joe Henderson.

Guitarists seem to be the flavour of the month.

Peter Bernstein is featured in this one.
