Surprised no one has mentioned the Tubby Hayes Big Band's 1964 Jazz 625 TV broadcast. There are five tracks altogether, the first being Parisian Thoroughfare:

Intro and Parisian Thoroughfare, by Tubby Hayes band, 1964, on BBC tv programme Jazz 625.

Some lovely Tubby, fine Jimmy Deuchar and Terry Shannon, but my favourite track is the second, In The Night, with an excellent intro and solo by Terry - who, by the way, is still alive at the age of 91 and living in Lincolnshire: http://henrybebop.co.uk/shannon.htm

This was disappointing as I anticipated this being a link to the trailer for the new Minion film. Having a somewhat passing resemblance to Bob, I was looking forward to this.

Even better than the album version, owing to the fact this one's a trio and Law takes a longer solo:

Some of us never progressed beyond Junor Blues - Peggy Junor...

A fantastic performance of this tune, he gets into some Coltrane-esque reharmonisation -

This guy was new to me until a few minutes ago when I saw this. Sounds alright so far:

                              The rapping was unexpected though!

The first tune has very Tippett-esque harmonies to my ears, full of stacked fourths and fifths. Brad Mehldau is on piano...
