Nice item in Patrick Kidd's Times Diary today: Today marks 60 years since Ronnie Scott opened his Soho jazz club. It took a while to take off, which Scott mocked in his pre-show patter. “You should have been here last week,” he liked to tell sparse audiences. “Somebody should have been here last week. We had the bouncers chucking them in. A guy rang up to ask what time the show started. We said ‘What time can you get here?’” -
