My father was a big MJQ fan, but I've always found them an odd mix of the very good and the very dull. This one's ace from start to finish though.

It includes what I believe is the second ever cover of an Ornette Coleman tune (the title track), with Art Pepper's "Tears Inside" on Smack Up being the first. Unless anyone knows better?

Speaking of MJQ, anyone here ever purchase the PAL version of Sait on Jamais (No Sun In Venice) video, which of course is in French...but (if you have it!) does it contain English subtitles?

I thought it was some years after the time that Bean met Hines.

(I was referring to the Village Vanguard album with Hines and Bean, recorded a couple of years before the Hawk's death).
