Eric Bibb fronted an interesting little doc on R4 about black jazz musicians living in Demark and Sweden in the 60s and onwards.

Isnt he related to Dexter Gordon in some way?

    Aint we all?

One of my favourite albums, The Best of Max Roach and Clifford Brown in concert. A bit of a rarity a lovely Brownie 3 I/2 minute solo on I Can't Get Started. http://youtu.be/Bm9wHyy5cX0

The first cover version of Coltrane's 1959 'Syeeda's Song Flute' from Art Taylor's overlooked 1960 BLUE NOTE album 'A.T.'s Delight'.
Nice playing from tenorist Stanley Turrentine and the little-known trumpeter Dave Burns.

Dave Burns "Warming Up" album, with the very fine Billy Mitchell, Al Grey and a young Bobby Hutcherson is worth checking out...I think there are also tracks on Utube.

Stanley's take on what "Would I do without you", from that album, with McCoy Tyner doing his best Ray-ness is a joy.

                      Absolutely ridiculous!

                      Martin Davidson, where are you?

That's unfair of course: in all probability it all has to do with ownership rights. I'll see what I can find out.
