Excellent, was Jazz 625 the one with intro music by the Clarke-Boland big band - a tune that despite my efforts, I've never been able to i/d?

http://missingepisodes.proboards.com...z-goes-college.... Scroll to the bottom of the thread for the complete listing of ALL the 625 programmes, plus Jazz College & Jazz Scene. BN. Quite something if they'd all been kept!

            An astonishing list, BN.
Almost criminal that many of these BBC jazz programmes no longer exist.
Hopefully, some of these old recordings will be resurrected on the forthcoming BBC4 Jazz 625 night.

Is there a list of what recordings exist? There seems to be some on YouTube.

                I’m looking forward to this.

Speaking of Youtube, here’s Bill Evans explaining to a stand in drummer what he’s going to play - no pressure there then...

i love this recording, there’s something so natural about it. A window opened on the mind of a genius - apologies for the mixed metaphor.

That's some of my favourite footage. The drummer is Alex Riel of Dexter and Kenny Drew etc fame. The rehearsal footage with Monica Zetterlund is also just glorious. "Waltz for Debbie", "Some other Time". She was lovely and the Swedish "inflections" are the making.

Here's one of my favourite Jazz 625 programmes with Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers featuring Lee Morgan & John Gilmore:
