Final print edition of Jazz Journal

The current issue of Jazz Journal(December 2018) will be the final print edition after 70 years of publishing.
    The editor, Mark Gilbert writes:
"For pragmatic and personal reasons it has become impractical to continue to produce a print edition for the magazine. There will, however, in early January be a new website for Jazz Journal(www.jazzjournal.co.uk).
The online format will allow for faster publication of news and reviews, links to relevant sources, social media interaction and a newsletter summarising new content as well as enabling JJ to communicate to a wider readership."

There's a moving article on Mike Osborne in the final edition.

    Thanks for the alert, JR.

TBH I haven't brought the mag for years - either in retail outlets, where I haven't seen it for decades probably, nor on subscription. It would have been nice to have had the final edition for the article on Ozzy, but I guess I'll have to wait to see that when I next get over to the National Jazz Archive in Loughton where all such things are stored for posterior, whenever that may be.

Not seen it on sale for years. Used to buy it when I saw it on the news stand or in Foyles record dept.

Thinking of cancelling my subscription to Jazzwise. It seems to be totally unrelated to the jazz found outside the trendier clubs of London or Manchester. And uninterested in the jazz played in most clubs up and down the country.

Thanks JR. I might just obtain a copy - could serve as a tombstone.
