Mike Westbrook's music for Dupont's film Moulin Rouge

Someone has kindly just posted this link to footage from EA Dupont's celebrated silent movie of 1928, and while not strictly jazz but in Westy's characteristic blend of Ellington and Weimar '20s Weill, I think it's terrific - you could be there!

Edit - Chris Topley has just issued further data about the above. The performance was premiered at the 34th London Film Festival in November 1990 by the Matrix Ensemble under (the wonderful) Robert Ziegler.

I've only just discovered this post but you might be interested to see a full version of this as part of our WestbrookJazz Moving Picture Show which started last April and will soon be stopping after showing 75 films from the Westbrook archives.
