Anyone any idea how much jazz content there is in Ramsey Lewis's current live set? He's playing at the Glasgow Jazz Festival later this month, and I was wondering whether to go or not.
His set's at least partly going to be made up of a performance of his mid-70s "Sun Goddess" album, but from the little I've heard of it, that's a poppy "jazz-funk" album (ie a blend of jazz with the jazz removed and funk with the funk removed) rather than proper jazz.
Due to a quirk of programming, there's nothing much else on that night I fancy, whereas the previous and next nights I really want to be in three or four places simultaneously.
