Jazz Now 21 November... Dexter in Holland

Just caught the newly released Dexter Gordon in Holland feature on this week's Jazz Now. Very impressed, very interesting playing from all but especially Dexter who sounds totally fresh, engaged and with none of the "world weariness" that sometimes crept into his later playing. So, thanks to Alyn et al for this! Proof the alarm clocks, if not the drugs, do work, along with the C90s

"Fried Bananas" (Gearbox LP) No CD?
Dexter Gordon (tenor); Rein De Graaff (piano); Henk Haverhook (bass); Eric Ineke (drums). Recorded November 3, 1972.

    BN.

*And although a recent CC convert, I did laugh at Dexter's, "dont play that Chick Corea shit".

*I see from YouTube that Eric Ineke now leads a good "Dexterish" Quintet, so worth checking that out also.

Very good Alyn, surprised how fluid and expansive Dexter was there, must have felt comfortable. And Soweto's interviews were fine, relief to hear that "youthful" enthusiasm after spending the day listening to Phil Shapps droning endlessly on and on...on and on, on the WKCR Coleman Hawkins birthday tribute!

Will listen out for Benny G.
