    Dave Baker(1931-2016)

Dave Baker who died on March 26 played some fine trombone on several George Russell recordings.
Here's his blues composition 'Honesty' fom George Russell's classic 1961 sextet album 'Ezz-thetics'.
I can remember Charles Fox on 'Jazz Today' playing Alexis Korner's version of this when the bluesman died in 1984.

He was a brilliant trombonist, I think he had to give it up after he hurt his jaw. He was better known for his educational work at Indiana U. I think I have one of his books somewhere. RIP.
