Recent research from the Scottish Jazz Federation suggests that people who go to concerts occasionally rather than regularly tend to view high prices as a guarantee of quality. If it's cheap it can't be any good. So the Jarrett concert ought to be great.

I'll start a thread on the full jazz audience development report later.

it is all those little cheap places that keep disappearing as venues Red Lions, Grainstores that worries me .... never gonna pay £50 plus travel to see anyone ... stuff the big money circus, it's the small venues will get my £ [all five of em if me luck's in with the hedgy crowd]

Free Jazz on The Pantiles in Tunbridge Wells

We have free jazz every summer in T.Wells. We've had some good people in the past, usually who live locally e.g. Alan Barnes, Lianne Carroll, John Etheridge, Mark Lockhart. no big names this year but I like Iain Rae's Hard Lines, a great funk band, who are playing.
