Roland Kirk/Andrew Hill, "Meeting on Termini's Corner" from Kirk's "Domino" album 1962?
One of my favourite Roland's and a great album. I think Hill was part of his working qrt at the time - they played the Newport festival.
Hard to believe this is now over sixty years ago, it still seems as fresh and relevant as today. More so

Having a session of Bud Powell whilst getting ready for my wedding this afternoon. My partner is doing down the aisle to Westlife although the music is based on Pachelbels canon. Haven't managed to convert to jazz in the last 2 and a bit years. Coming out of the registry to Messaiens Turangalila 5th movement which was my choice so it was a compromise.

Here’s a brief clip of the Newport performance with Andrew Hill, Vernon Martin & Clifford Jarvis:

Michael Cuscuna had Yusef Lateef play at his wedding, now that's something to brag about!

Congratulations to both Ian! I got married to Mozart's clarinet concerto, sadly not Jackie McLean. Or even Shostakovich!

I beleive Westlife and Boyzone are interchangeable.
Bluesnik. I learned Mozart's Clarinet Concerto and had the "Music Minus One". The slow movement is what you got married to I suspect.
And, I didn't know until now it was used in "Out of Africa" as the big romantic piece. There's a thing. Or actually, this may be a fake!
