      Charlie Mingus: Mingus Ah-Um

An old CBS mono LP that I'd forgotten I had. Superb sound - like so many jazz recordings from the 50s and 60s.

Kamasi Washington - "Truth". A great, uplifting piece channelling Trane and Pharoah Sanders. Excellent.

Woody Herman: Blowin' Up a Storm - mainly because it has what I rate as the best rhythm section ever: the sublime combination of Ralph Burns, Billy Bauer, Chubby Jackson and Davey Tough.

But why can't I post an actual image here? Everything I try (URLs, uploading from my computer) simply doesn't work. What am I doing wrong?

I wondered that once, but have decided it's more convenient to all just to post the URL, so that once clicked on, the forum can be re-loaded on another window while still able to listen, whereas the displayed link cancels the moment one moves away from the forum. Also, maybe it's just my system, but it seems the displayed link cannot be full-screened.

The %^&£$@ (if I may correct your spelling) image can be included if you click on the little picture of a tree in a frame in the panel above the text you type, Rcartes (third from the left) and copy the URL into the space that then appears.

(If you've already tried this and it didn't work, then nefarious influences of which I am unaware are at work!)

Aha - in my case the little tree in question is not on-clickable, unfortunately! Never mind...

                          Oh, nefarious enough!

(Incidentally, I owe you an apology, S_A: I edited your #804, thinking that I was adjusting Rcartes ' #803. Once done, there was no way of undoing! And I was editing Rcartes' #803 to see if the image was directly linkable to that post rather than just from my machine - I'm still learning how these Hosty/Admin buttons work. )

Not to worry, ferney - I was seeking a form of words that didn't work out too well in my original message!

There are threads on this problem from time to time.
                              Believe this is the latest:
