      Eddie Lockjaw Davis - "Afro-Jaws" album 1960.

      Jaws goes Latin with Clark Terry etc. Splendid firey stuff. I'd kind of taken him for granted but I was reading Johnny Griffin's recall of when they co-led the quintet. Lockjaw corking up some of the tenor keys, "Hey what you doing man?" Davis..."Don't need 'em!"

              It's going to be hard to pick out a favourite from today's wonderful selection, but I have a tape of that interview with Wayne when he mentioned the spontaneous rendition of Stella by Starlight to a soaked Japanese audience. Imagine being in that crowd on that day - a lifetime experience.
