      I like it too, though part of me would like to have more Coltrane and a bit less Pharoah Sanders... My favourite performance is the first one, Afro Blue, cos Trane takes his longest solo on that one.

        I'd agree with that. Pharoah Sanders does contribute some interesting improvisations, but it goes on a bit too long and I'm more interested in what Coltrane is doing anyway ....

                            A classic and the Mahavishnu album I reach for the most - Meeting of the Spirits and Vital Transformation being my favourite tracks.

                            I'm currently listening to McLaughlin's Extrapolation, having woken up early with Arjen's Bag playing in my head.

                              I’m listening to Milder PS, a Scandinavian jazz quartet who have recorded two CDs of Paddy McAloon (Prefab Sprout) songs, the more recent CD being very improvisational in places and the musicianship overall very high indeed, imho. Perfect for Sunday morning.
