Not much of it but perfectly formed. Note the distinguished band members, no wonder they can play like that. Singer's not bad either.
......Johnny Mercer sings his own composition "Somethings Gotta Give"......

"Venus di Mildew" from Hank Mobley's SEMINAL (sic) LP "A Caddy For Daddy" recorded 51 years ago today, December 18, 1965. And he and teh band did a fine job of it too.

"No More Goodbys" (sic) from one of my favourite Hank Mobley LPs - "Hi Voltage", recorded October 9, 1967.

John Hicks is brilliant on this one.

Excellent Mobley's TF, I have been playing a Hank album today Called "Curtain Time" from an earlier vintage (1957). It was not released at the time, god knows why because it has brilliant playing by Hank, Kenny Dorham and Sonny Clark, particularly like "The Mobe" to quote Dexter - It's sooooo hip.

I've got the Mosaic set of Fifties Mobley recordings. Wonderful stuff. A much underappreciated sax player.

Jazz at this time of the day? That's like having a scotch and soda before Breakfast!

???? Scotch (admittedly, without adulterations) is "breakfast"!
