This link comes courtesy The Oxford pub in Kentish Town's latest monthly programme email: tenor saxophonist Leo Richardson's able quartet is Monday's offering.
The Leo Richardson Quartet - The DemiseFilmed at The Spice Of Life, London October 11th 2017 featuring:Leo Richardson - Tenor SaxRick SImpson - PianoTim Thor...
Question is: am I really that interested in another mid-Coltrane reproduction band, however au fait they happen to be? Rick Simson, the pianist, is pretty good and he seems a bit of a character if his self-aspersion in the comment underneath is anything to go by, and he brings his own well-upholstered trio there the following week, so I might just wait.

Not often I get that from J to Z. As to Coltrane reproduction, I hear if anything, more Henderson era Tubby Hayes etc influences. That area of things and not a problem. He's certainly not in it for fame & fortune. I'm fine with it.

Has anyone tried this? Jazz from Spain. I have just come across Joan Chamorro and his quintet, featuring Rita Payes, vocal and trombone, in Flor de Lis. A refreshing sound to my ear.
