If you like this record, I would recommend the earlier disc where John Scofield was reunited with Bill Frisell. Brass arrangements by Mike Gibbs. One of the great album from the 1990s'.
Incidentally, I have been playing Bill Frisell's "Quartet" today for the first time in ages. I used to love this album and it has stood up to time really well. Featuring the line up of guitar, violin, trombone and trumpet, the music sound like a post modern mash up of Joe Venuti, Charles Ives and the Carter Family. A lot of the music was written for the "Far Side" film which I have never seen albeit I love Gary Larssen's cartoons.
Now playing some Toots and the Maytals.

The live double album by the Five Peace Band (John McLaughlin, Chick Corea, Christian McBride, Vinnie Colaiuta and Kenny Garrett).
I have mentioned this before, but this is an incredible album. Check out this blues -

Not only does it have a beautiful set of changes but also at the same time it has a rather fetchingly vigorous up-tempo rhythm. The original performance of this tune is ok, but here it's utterly incredible, epic and mystical.
Props to Santana.
