Pat Metheny - one of several guitarists I find sound much hipper playing standards rather than their own tunes... this is great.

This is an animated transcription video I've made from a music transcription I've been working on (and off) for years from Pat Metheny's improvised solo on t...

I heard that too. What a star Evans was.

And source of many puns - Seven Steps to Evans; For Evan's Sake; Evans Sent; My Blue Evans (I just made that up, though doubtless it already exists!)

It's good: Sonny was then at his most innovative, but I often wonder why enough material wasn't found from the original soundtrack, incomparably played by the British guys, to bring together and release as an album. Warner Bros managed it with Herbie Hancock's "Blow up", from that same time.

Son House - "Death Letter Blues" (live). Son House could be a bit hit & miss (understandably) on his "rediscovery" but this is magnificent and heartfelt. I've never seen this clip before....http://youtu.be/NdgrQoZHnNY

Thanks, BN. Very powerful and moving.
Here's a clip of Booker(Bukka) White playing 'Aberdeen Mississippi Blues':

Noticed there's already a version of this footage floating around, but this cut has MUCH higher quality. Enjoy!

Listening a fair amount to a few versions of Pat Metheny playing 'Solar', I found Bill Evans playing it, very nice.

Bill Evans' solo on "Solar" from the album, "Sunday at the Village Vanguard". Transcribed by guitarist, Matthew Meldon. Bill Evans-piano, Scott LaFaro-bass...
