        Thanks for this

Jazz scene growing all the time in the north Trying to figure out what the keyboard is that Martin Longhawn’s playing. Website says Organ/Wurlitzer, but can't be, can it? They went out of production years ago. Sounds like a modern take on the old Hammond B3. None the worse for that.
And the tune ends too soon for us all

I think it's a Nord modelling synth/keyboard from the youtube clips of their gigs
Great to see Nik developing as a wonderfully fluent player having known him as an 8 year old and beyond

That's sweet Chanced upon some B3 playing with a fine groove yesterday: Charles Earland. Best example probably ‘Seven of Nine’ on ‘Cookin’ with the Mighty Burner’. Earland crossed ‘The Jazz Bridge’ from straight ahead jazz into clubland disco and fusion in the late 70’s finding new audiences along the way. Pity about that but so many did.

Sonny Rollins' 1962 album 'What's New?'
Many Rollins' fans were dismayed by the tonal distortions on the 10-minute 'Jungoso' but I find it an inventive and gripping performance:

                    from "What's New" (1962), RCA Victor.Sonny Rollins - tenor sax ; Bob Cranshaw - bass ;Candido - conga drum.Written by Sonny Rollins.Recorded on May 14, 1962 ...

Charlie Parker at the Onyx club NYC July 1948

These are the Dean Benedetti recordings, the sound is pretty dreadful but Bird is in my opinion at his finest. God he was so far ahead of the game (together with Max roach) some of the things he was playing pre empted Ornette of 10 years later.
