                                Some nice latter-day interpretations on this morning's programme: perhaps a tad over-nice? - in that tendency (welcomed by some on this board) to seek some goal of perfection from jazz, like putting a gloss on a Georgian mahoganny dinner table, which for me isn't at all what it's about, but (to apply that overused cliché in its proper sense) moving forward.
