    BBC Music Jazz

    Not a good start...

... anyone else tried this. I can't receive DAB here, so have tried to listen live online and receive this message:

    We have a problem...
    Sorry, something has gone wrong

Unfortunately this part of the Radio Player has temporarily stopped working.

On demand listening does seem to be available, though

It's still that problem 20 minutes later.

I Can't get it on-line in any way, but it is a strong signal on my DAB Radio(s). Quite a treat!

Wondered whether BBC is deliberately disabling on-line access, to check number of listeners on DAB Radio, if that's technically possible?

Its not on DAB here in north Essex. We are very remote here - more than 50 miles from London !!!!

It may as well be, from where I sit it is way down South!

Working. Back to the trouble'n strife and dustbin-lids for the weekend.

I like north Essex. Good monthly jazz jam in Colchester. May have to move down here, so not that bad and within concert & theatre distance of London - I have become rather partial to the 606, but Chelsea is rather a long way from Liverpool Street.

They do expect you to eat there. That might be OK if you're from out-of-town, but for me it's either a 40 minute bike ride or problems with public transport, being rather off the map. I understand it's not compulsory but the reception if you don't is less... convivial, they say.

There does seem something wrong with the Top 50 Jazz artist programmes. All I'm getting is lectures from Geoffrey Smith and no music.

So much for the trumpeted 'pop-up service'.
Unavailable here too way beyond M25 fortress.

We are probably conisdered "abroad" - hence copyright issues

I wonder, could this be because it is off air until 14:00 today?

You are better off listening via the iPlayer anyway. It uses a far superior coding regime (around 128kbps HE-AAC stereo) than is offered by DAB.

Ah yes. I remember the lies the BBC told us about "CD quality" digital radio. Anything but. A good strong FM signal for Radio 3 is much better than DAB.
