"Tubby Hayes - A Man In A Hurry, a new
documentary about the great saxophonist, is due
for release on DVD with a launch party at Ray's
Jazz
Produced by Mark Baxter and directed by Lee
Cogswell, Tubby Hayes - A Man In A Hurry will be
released on DVD in the UK and Ireland on 26
October 2015. The documentary is narrated by
actor Martin Freeman and features interviews
with people who knew or worked with Hayes, as
well as with fans. Those taking part include
drummer Spike Wells, artist Sir Peter Blake, poet
Michael Horovitz, broadcaster Robert Elms,
bandleader Ray Gelato and Hayes biographer and
fellow saxophonist Simon Spillett.
Producer Mark Baxter has been a Hayes fan for
over 30 years. He writes "Personally, I’m
delighted that in 2015, in what would have been
his eightieth year and over forty years since his
sad demise, Tubby and his numerous recordings
from that highly productive twenty-year period
have steadily attracted a growing band of
dedicated fans around the globe, and long may
that continue.’
Tubby Hayes - A Man In A Hurry will be launched
at Ray’s Jazz at Foyles, London, on 19
November as part of the EFG London Jazz
Festival. In addition to a screening of the film,
Simon Spillett will play a short set of Hayes’
music with John Critchinson (piano), Alec
Dankworth (bass) and Spike Wells (drums).
Spillett will then be joined by Cogswell and
Baxter for a Q&A."

The trailer is on YouTube and it promises to be good. I haven't seen the entire thing but the comments from those who have on Organissimo are very positive, only that it could have been longer. There's also a Facebook and Twitter promo dedicated to the movie.
