Lovely programme, lovely guy, sometimes I wish he'd record with a more aggressive section (just bass/drums a la late Warne Marsh? ~ although Tracey is that), but maybe that's not his thing and never has been.

The Billie Holiday tribute ("Satin") album is a joy.

For me the truly great Wellins album was the 1979 "Dreams are Free" with Pete Jacobsen, Adrian Kendon and Spike Wells. Not selected for the b/cast, but the selection was fine indeed. Yep, Bobby's a really nice guy too!
