I did contemplate getting my coat, but yes, certainly that would be better!

I notice that Supershow: the Last Great Jam of the 60s, is showing tonight on Sky Arts, from 8 to 9.30pm - seem to remember there were some interesting personalities from the worlds of UK R&B and American jazz cooped up together in some hangar in west London?

If you can stick out Eric Clapton's Crossroads Live in LA for another hour and a half - or sleep through it with the volume turned low - a further hour and three quarters follows on BB King's concert in the Albert 'All just after midnight.

Doubtless all will be revealed. or relieved.

Buddy Guy, Buddy Miles, Jack Bruce, Dick Heckstall Smith etc...."Mary's Lamb" and "My time after a while". There's also footage of Buddy with Roland Kirk doing "Stormy Monday". Buddy young & super intense.

*When I typed in Mary's Lamb, spell check immediately changed it to "Mary's Lambretta"! For the mods in the audience?!

Tremendous - particularly Roland Kirk for his singularly unbuttoned and at the same time apposite contributions. Buddy Miles shows just what a great blues singer he was, which I had not realized. Phil Collins would lack the energy for combining drumming at comparable energy levels with singing! The MJQ numbers were interesting: although I didn't think their attempts at stylistic upgrading were that successful one had to hand it to them for still keeping going after 20 years, pretty exceptional for any outfit apart from the repertoire-sustained orchestras, of course. A few famous names on display in the audience - Marc Bolan for one.
