JRR Saturday 19.9.15 - one especially great choice

Loved this weekend's show - and (if you're reading) Alyn did you choose "Someone to Watch over Me" for the listener whose beloved wife is in care for Alzheimer's and who wanted an Ella track to express his feelings about her?

If you, or if one of the producers - what an inspired choice!

I like to try and listen to the programme while cycling round the Park by way of a Saturday afternoon constitutional (that'll be easier now it's at 4pm )... I don't mind admitting that the Calibanopede had to be brought to a halt on Rotten Row and manly tears wiped away listening to the lyrics of that song choice for that listener

    "...oh, how I need
    Someone to watch over me"

Great music on the show generally - many thanks!

"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
    Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

According to the best estimates of astronomers there are at least one hundred billion galaxies in the observable universe.

Should we collectively (from here) make a JRR request? I know Mr. C's a huge Ran Blake fan, as well as Oscar Pettiford and small groupThad Jones.

But really, VERY best wishes from me and mine. Take it easy Comrade.

Brilliant suggestion Bluesie. May I nominate your good self as choice maker?

Consider it done. I think Ran is the goto guy as his work never gets played on R3 and its Calum's quiet advocacy over the years that really turned me on to him. Respect to both.

Coincidentally, when I met Calum in 2011 to indulge in an Amoeba Music foray in Hollywood, I found a Ran Blake offering which (of course) pleased him.

When I saw his post today, I thought it was a blast from the past - and being early here - shook, shook my head.
