    Thanks, that's a good overview. Although I (now) sometimes wonder if Dexter wasn't a bit over lionised? The 50s to Bluenote to early Denmark periods are genuinely great with his then tonal fluidity, capacity and energy, but as the years passed by his tone became stolid & hard and the playing became too often "Dexter" predicable. His charisma certainly counted for a lot in his life. And there were others around then​​, as good or better, who got little of the praise, Junior Cook definitely for one. And with Dexter the drink didn't help in later years.
