      For me Barre's playing - especially bowed - is closest to David Izenzon's on those mid-60s Ornette Coleman Trio at the Golden Circle. Last time I saw him play was maybe ten years ago at a free (as in gratis) free (as in music) improv sequence of groups and individuals in the first floor level bar in the Festival Hall as part of the London Jazz Festival - possibly the last ever opportunity for this kind of music to be presented to the casual out for a day public. He was part of a trio with Howard Riley and I can't remember who on drums.
