Thanks also from me, BN - I would have missed that programme.

My screen also came up with other BBC themed recommendations, including of Val Wilmer's photographs of jazz greats from 2017, but the only one actually shown was of herself fronting a large photo of Sun Ra at the talk she gave at Café Oto. I managed to foul up on my probably one and only opportunity ever to talk to Val. She was a couple of places behind me in a queue for one of Keith Tippett's last ever gigs, at the Union Chapel in Islington. Not being an occasion to be wasted on pleasantries about the rain, I just managed to say "Hello".

Cue moral of the story advice: what we could all have said when meeting important forces in one's lifetime, but didn't!

Not the same, but I once met Princess Di. The "royal train" had broken down just outside Swindon (how romantic) and we had to entertain her and her bodyguard etc for an hour in our office (Business Development). She was actually very pleasant and apologised loudly to me for being "such a nuisance!" I said "It's OK Babes, how would you like a large glass of vino while I play you some Ayler tapes?" "Ain't you got no bleedin' Wham or Roxy Music?!" she murmured royally. Worra toff.
