The "Barry Harris: Plays Tadd Dameron" album is really very good. It's on Utube if anyone wants to sample the quality.

First track is "Hot House"! Hey Barry, we want Bird's "Cool Blues" or "Funk in deep freeze" by Hank Mobley.

Thanks, Bluesnik. Am just about to order a copy - has been on my 'wants list' for a long time!
Jimmy Heath's 'Picture of Heath' also looks interesting with Barry Harris, Sam Jones & Billy Higgins.

          Hopefully more to come...

One thing you may want to check out with the Harris "Tadd". I've just looked at the Organissimo web site and there's a suggestion on there that Gene Taylor's bass is miked "direct to board", I.e. that horrible 70s/ no " wood" bass sound that usually sets my teeth on edge. I've never noticed it here but I've only got an old tape copy of the album. Good recordings may show this up a lot more if true.

It's only a shame that Schlitten never got Barry Harris to record an album of Barry Harris plays Harry Barris....
