Just picking up on Lee Konitz again, Lee's "An Image', Lee Konitz with Strings" from Verve, 1958 is well worth checking out. Nothing like I expeƧted with string qrt arrangements by Bill Russo and as much his album as Lee's. Its been badged up as 'third stream' and that may put some people off with its Bartok-like string figures. BUT, me an the ducks think its a fascinating set. And Lee plays superbly.

          BN.

          Ducks + Stream, geddit.

"Niehaus mother brown" as we called him in the Kenton band.
