A couple from north of Hadrian's Wall.

Tommy Smith plugging his new album: http://living.scotsman.com/features/...39s.6738645.jp

Chris Wallace of Edinburgh trio NeWt on their collaboration and forthcoming tour with Silke Eberhard: http://www.heraldscotland.com/arts-e...peal-1.1088152 Worth catching if they're in your part of the world, although Eberhard's only playing on the first half of the tour: the other dates are just the trio. The Manchester gig (with Eberhard) is being recorded for Jo3.

Aye, 'twas a good gig. Shame he didn't have the second half as well (the Mike Stern Band took the stage). He also recorded a Jazz Library interview with Alyn Shipton which will be aired some time in the future. Interesting CD too.

Jon3 wins special programme award at Sonys .... some thin else eh?

of contemporary jazz. Spiky, surprising, sensational event radio.
what the judges said innit .... who are we to disagree

i am sure that Jez and his crew of muzak flogging creatives with a thin recording approach are delighted ....

Bill Evans interview in the Glasgow Herald: Miles Davis, Tommy Smith, and why he decided it was better to be a sax player than a pianist.

I was going to be a pianist originally, so if I’d kept that up and still played with Miles it might have been even more confusing
