I was listening to France Musique on Sat and they played, "All The Things You Could Be By Now If Sigmund Freud's Wife Was
Your Mother" from "Mingus Presents Mingus" on Candid. Staggering Dolphy solo to come ripping and blasting thro the radio. Almost spilt my Grappa!

If that's the Birdland sets with Roland Kirk its a knock out. Sound is a bit flakey but the music and energy is superb.

Calum Happy to have played it. Most of the Mosaic 64 tracks are very long, but that one seemed to do the business in 11 minutes or so...

Great music! Seemed a bit adventurous for JRR, but a nice counterbalance to all the trad we have had recently. Let's hope we don't have too long to wait for more!

                      But, remember the demographic, Oddball!

You'll be pleased to know the average age of the JRR audience has come down (albeit slightly), and that in the last quarter it increased by 37,000 listeners. If you want to hear more adventurous music, then ask for it! That said there's some Mary Halverson coming up in a week or two, and some scorching Bob Berg and Tom Harrell already requested for the Horace Silver memorial show...

                          "Two-year-old mice were given a
                          compound over a week, moving
back the key indicators of ageing
to that of a six-month-old mouse.
                          Researchers said this was the
                          equivalent of making a 60-year-
old person feel like a 20-year-old.
                          It’s hoped the research, published
in Cell, will be expanded to
humans as early as next year" -

                          Guardian11/2013.

Soon to be batch tested on JRR requesters...

Just as long as they request some Kenny Dormouse on JRR.
