              Yes, thanks again, Alyn. I shall be listening hard to the announcement to the opening track - was this a pre-Messengers recording? I'm damned if I've heard of the bass player or the pianist.

                Its the Messengers "transitioning" from the Mclean version to the one with Griff. Sam D. was I gather quite highly respected locally later on if a tad low profile.

                The first jazz ep I bought was the Jackie/Hardman Messengers playing "Sam you made the bridge too long"....great firey alto from a young Mcleaniac.
