Well I think its a disgrace that Loose Tubes are lauded whilst the far more original 80s Welsh outfit, Roose Tubas, are now completely ignored by the (Sais) jazz gatekeepers.

Just because they didn't go to Public School....the sound of eighteen tubas playing Sidewinder.....unforgetable.

"Those were the days" as Mary 'Oppy Hopkins used to wail.

According to the best estimates of astronomers there are at least one hundred billion galaxies in the observable universe.

I myself went to Eton via Charterhouse* and can confirm that Les Tubes are all "classless". They certainly have none. Eton confers no societal advantage except floppy hair. And ruling the country in timeless manner.

*On a Class War day out.

I should also add that members of the GREAT Welsh band Roose Tubas made hot soup in their tubas during the 84/5 Miners Strike and gave it out on the picket lines. Unlike Loose Tubes who munched smoked salmon, waved the Telegraph and gimped for Special Branch.

Are there any Old Etonians in Loose Tubes, then?

                  Revisionism, eh?

I'm reminded of someone who told a story about asking for the works of Karl Marx at Moscow central library back in the days, and being told there was very little demand for it. "Why is that?" he asked. "Well, he tells you how to get there, so why would anyone living here want to read it?" came the answer.

Here's a thought: will every hotel room have a copy of Kapital beside the bed when we have socialism?

Just joking about the Tubes Bruce. Fine as individuals!

Yes I saw that about L&W Marx Engels. Fucking outrageous as most of the translations date from Soviet researchers in the late 20/30s.

Strangely I listened again to my tape of Ian Ballamy's Tenor Concerto piece from R3. Very fine. Really like this.

                        He's "matured" well!
