    Happy 50th Birthday Jezzer Nelson?

Last Saturday afternoon, listening as I was to Gilles Peterson just down't road (sorry Alyn) I was intrigued to note the following dedication (skip to 2:29:24 here http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b03zxqqq)

    ...that's going out to Jez...fifty years...Friday...happy birthday
Now, I remember Jezzer when he was Gilles' sidekick on Mad on Jazz on BBC Radio GLR; it could only be him, right?

And what was the record played? Sun Ra perhaps? Cecil Taylor? Weather Report? Er...no...

    Happy birthday

According to the best estimates of astronomers there are at least one hundred billion galaxies in the observable universe.

*Just joking...only when Jezza plays tracks by Concrete Lizard or Seb Drums Whatever. The Leroi Jones "aka" tribute was very good and politically honest. Fine

There has been some good stuff recently - still find him a bit crap as a presenter, though and the constant references to Something Else are irritating.
