If this was still the order of the day I would still be listening more or less full-time to R3 from 7.30 a.m as opposed to either silence or my CDs.
The 6.30p.m. "Lifelines" looks oddly placed on R3 I have to say...

Petshop played a rather nice piece of Rameau that I hadn't heard before, on todays show.

Then he played Tombeau de Couperin(or something else for the zillionth time) and I gave up.

Yes, but I don't think that the programmes at 6.30 pm were OU as such - the OU broadcasts were 6-7am (VHF only - see bottom right of page).

The 'Lifelines' strand ran through the week (not the weekend), and on that particular week the themes were:

Mon: Home and Family
Tue: Work and Training
Wed: Language and Communications
Thu: The Wider World
Fri: Leisure and Recreation

All part of the BBC's remit to educate, I suppose. I think at one time it was called 'Study on Three'. I suspect that it was a vestige of 'Network Three', introduced in the late '50s to introduce additional minority programming (another example of a rash attempt to widen the audience?)

Breakfast in another place - BBCTV Breakfast - anyone see the music for bird sh..e - looked like 4 hours 33 mins yielded little - did they not think of attracting a few more by using feeders with sunflower seeds?

THIS is one of the reasons why I do not listen anymore..........in fact, I did turn on B'fast this morning............THERE ARE NOW CROSSWORD CLUES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ye Gods and little fishes!!!!!!!!!!!!

During my very limited BBC listening for many months now, I have not heard ONE PIECE OF MUSIC THAT WAS NEW TO ME........

I still miss the BBC before the changes, it was so entertaining, now I just get cross. Sorry to rant but sometimes.......
