I thought 70 odd broadcasts of Slavonic Dances was somewhat excessive last year, at the rate we're going this year that total will be passed by the end of next month! I think they are delightful works but of course overplaying ruins their impact. I just cannot understand the logic behind overplaying pieces. Even the most diehard newcomer must be getting heartily sick of hearing Zadok the Priest for the 25th or so time this year. How long before they give up on R3 too?

It might first be a good idea to close off the repetitive & ill-informed gibberish now displayed in the Eternal Breakast & Classical Collection threads (maybe others) - they're too visible & just won't die naturally. Like it or not FoR3 is tarnished or enhanced by this forum & any BBC observers or potential new members will likely think the forum & FoR3 to be populated by pedantic, aged amateurs who've lost the plot. Incessant moaning here is bound to put many people off & will never do any good..
I am sure we are all grateful for her / his generous views here...

I'm sure that both here and on the old R3 boards we had BBC shills who tried to steer away citicism - until RW is prepared to debate honestly then apart from switching off (which these days is much of the time) then there are few if any other options as it is obvious that the R3 management have no desire to respond to criticism.

Facts first
I am 62 (just) but maintain I don't look it
I much prefer SMP to RCB
I am not a shill indeed I have no association with the BBC but am very impressed with anyone who knew this word.
I came to Radio 3, which I feel is something that needs to be preserved for future generations, relatively late in life via, mostly Breakfast.
I feel the world is changing rapidly and Breakfast and Radio 3 have, possibly sadly, to an extent to change with it.
Breakfast probably hasn't got it right but then what has? - I feel this debate is useful and I'm sure the BBC and/or it's shills read it but it has to be a debate and not descend
IMHO into a lynching.
I therefore appear albeit feebly in the interest of balance!

Not

But
http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode...The_Neighbour/It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.
