We weren't sure whether you were disappointed about it, or pleased
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

good one - but simply making an observation - I am "on record" as saying they don't bother me - again, I would suspect, the man alone!

Do look at today's schedule for Breakfast. I thought I knew Swan Lake pretty well but we are promised 'The Dance of the goblets'at 8.03am. Cheers.

Well, Wiki does give Act 1:
No. 7 Sujet (Introduction to the Dance with Goblets)
No. 8 Dance with Goblets: Tempo di polacca

                ??

                [Danse des coupes, it appears]

The Dance with Goblets is one of the more regular 'bits' from Swan Lake featured in either morning or evening Breakfast. the Tempo di Polacca being the reason as it saves playing the famous one from Eugene Onegin every week.

Rob did say something about another version I believe. All my very old LPs of the supposedly complete SL don't mention it.Live and learn I suppose I hoped it was a mistake for 'Dance of the Cygnets' 'goblet' seems a good name for them.

text + poll - think there was a cutting but I'd just switched back from R4 and was looking up schedule to see whether I wanted to listen further or to get out a Cd before I had to leave to visit a friend

This morning we had just the opening movement from a Handel organ concerto. The entire piece would have easily fitted into Breakfast (<15mins?). Are the extracts getting shorter?

There were also two isolated movements after 10am (Dale and Elgar).
