I don't think there is currently a hole deep enough for Breakfast to be thrown into. Just had a listen, professional broadcasting at its finest. I cannot believe that PT didn't know who wrote the wretched piece or are the presenters now so totally reliant on their silly scripts that they are incapable of having any knowledge or their own or being able to think for themselves. Total directoral control in all matters by the Dear Leader, his staff can no longer perform basic functions without first having to refer to their specific instructions.

Oh my. I wish I could disagree but I fear this is not far off in the continuing dumbing down of breakfast.

Over an hour of today's, and Hindemith, Ellington, lovely Franck, not too hackneyed, I hope, Brahms Academic Festival, also IMO worth a listen de temps a temps, superior Vivaldi ( not wallpaper this time) and ...............I haven't sworn at the radio once!

...not to mention a piece I'd never heard before, and which I found rather haunting: Spurn Point Elegy by Anthony Hedges, which PT introduced with his own evocative (and apparently unscripted) description of Spurn Point. Generally an enjoyably diverse choice of music today, although I for one could have done without the excerpt from Will Todd's Mass in Blue, which seems to be gaining purchase amongst choral societies because they misguidedly believe that it makes them appear cool.
