I sometimes have to ask myself if Anton has actually ever heard those works mentioned by Suffolkcoaster, or those parts of the works seldom or ever played.

You really shouldn't bother about me .....but what I understand you to be asking is - is the music I listen to only Breakfast? No it's not, thanks to Breakfast bringing me to Radio 3 - possibly the only person ever! - and then to these Boards my listening has widened a great deal - still nowhere near you or Roehre or Suffolkcoastal or indeed the average member here but I'm not 64 yet!

The only possible reason I can find to explain the intransigence and blind (deaf?) loyalty of Messrs. Gould & Mercia is that one is Petroc Trelawny and the other is Sara Mohr-Pietsch.

But it's not that we've outgrown R3.

The problem is that R3 has become increasingly infantilised, so that for much of the day it is a completely different radio station from the one we all used to love.

Anyway, AG, "Breakfast" and in particular RC's knowledge and love of music, was an important part of my musical journey, so I am with you there.
I do however, find the current programmes generally very unappealing, and I suspect that they won't achieve their aims.
