    I see one contribution to Guardian has
    Martin Kettle blames the head of Radio 3, Roger Wright, for excluding Mozart. Presumably Mr Wright is also responsible for making Radio 3's Breakfast show like Classic FM without the ads.
    - which suggests there is a recent improvement, as when I gave up on it it the function of music was to fill interstices between tweet requests, trailers, puff for other programs etc - adverts in all but name

      since the Torch Days there has been a move away from normal people, most of whom I found interesting, and we are now in a spell of people of the Proms. I do not know what the plan is when the Last Night is over.

          maybe they could now play two (possibly even successive) movements of a multi-movement piece - they could even ague that they are a little closer to the composer's wishes but I guess the suits aren't interested in that idea as anything over 3mins taxes them.

            Yes. I've just listened to Tuesday's edition (forgot it was Charts day - does the BBC get paid for every time the presenter says "The Specialist Classical Chart"?).

            Guest caller was Benjamin Grosvenor, coincidentally on the very day he was appearing at the Proms (also on Radio 3, please note the early start of 7pm). Still it was bit more informative than a listener phoning to say he was going to the Prom.
            It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

              Just had this mornings edition on. I have been also hearing more this week, so, in some respects I prefer this current way of presenting.

              IMO, this programme is not for a sit down and listen,more forgetimng people set up for the day.

                What is the Italian sung there, so that I can expunge the elephants? Can't catch it.
