    As someone who lived through union-ravaged years of power cuts and Red-Robbo I believe the Thatcher years certainly brought sanity to the trade union managers.

        This thread, more than any other, lays bare the psychological 'identikit' of us boarders on here. Intelligent, fast-witted, erudite, school-boyish, immature, an axe to grind, too much time on our hands, spiteful and cowardly. We may only have these traits to greater or lesser degrees, so don't rush to the belief that it aint you.

                I haven't even contributed yet but after hysterical references above to "predictable and tasteless juvenalia" and "ghoulish gloating" etc and the above outburst, I have the feeling that the custard pie "spiteful" "immature", "small people" and "disgraceful" might also be aimed at me. (gee thanks). Sadly obvious, that even after her death Mrs T still manages brings out the worst in people.
