The usual suspects are coming out with their predictable and tasteless juvenalia in response to this sad news, starting off with the very title of the thread. But then such insulting garbage is only what I have come to expect.
We have lost a political giant in an age of political pygmies, who changed the UK for the better in so many ways.
RIP.
Patriotism is supporting your country all the time, and your government when it deserves it.
It enrages me that Thatcher still brings out the very worst in me, thirty-five years after she began her devastation of the people and the culture into which I was born. I feel nothing except regret that this didn't happen thirty-five years ago, which brings me down to her petty, vindictive level.
I think it's ok to still feel rage
It's hard to have sympathy or empathy for those who cause suffering and maybe too much to ask
what we will now have is a load of nonsense about what a "great" leader this woman was etc etc
It's always sad for those who know people who die
but i'm not shedding any tears over this .........
Normally, two Threads on the same subject are merged. May I suggest that, for the sake of the Forum, these are kept separate: Bbm's for comments of a more charitable nature than some of us feel capable of making, and ami's for other comments.

Brassbandmaestro has opened another Thread that may be more to your taste, Mr Pee.

Thankyou, BBM, for your appropriate and respectful words on the death of this great Prime Minister, in contrast to the horrible gloating over on AM51's thread. Lady Thatcher has only been dead a few hours and yet the usual suspects are practically dancing on her grave. What a sad indictment on some contributors to these boards.
RIP indeed.

It is my view that this particular thread should be closed until a decent amount of time has passed. Lady Thatcher has only been dead a few hours and the ghoulish gloating exhibited here, whatever one's views of her politics, is, in my view, wholly innapropriate and does not reflect at all well on those who have posted it.

You know perfectly well what I mean. Those who jump in and post malicious invective just a few hours after the death of an old and frail woman say much more about themselves than they do about Lady Thatcher.

Go back under the bridge and you don't have to read it if you don't want to
Why should we be expected to have respect for those who cause so much suffering in the world ?
Her idea was that we should "rejoice" when young Argentinian conscripts were murdered on the Belgrano (which ISN'T the same as saying that it was OK for their government to invade etc etc etc ) so what is an appropriate response then ?
It's "inappropriate" to do things that make people suffer but that seems to be OK by some .......

You now have a thread for your tears, Pee: the best place for you, unctuous BBC TV news commentators and their hosts of psychophants queuing up at ends of phone lines to be interviewed.
Time now to organise for a good turn-out at Thatcher's state funeral.
