Sad, and rather diminishes those who so interrupt a solid ongoing exchange, such that next time you log on, you tend to scroll past those who do it regularly more or less every time you see their alias on screen.

Isn't the internet wonderful in that , unlike in the pub, one can simply scroll past the people whom one finds boring...........

Oh by all means don't hold back at having a go at me if you like. I'm very happy to defend the substance of what I write, or to adjust my views should someone make an effective counter-argument. Just don't pop up on every thread with silly comments.

As regards Paddy's Wigwam, that was discussed at the time. I wasn't aware you were a catholic, nor that it had hurt anyone. I'm surprised, because it's what I thought everybody else called it, and I first heard it years ago in Liverpool, but in hindsight I accept that it was indeed a comment that wasn't helpful, and so if it hurt you or anyone else, I apologize.

Unfortunately, having read through the entire thread it seems to me that the penny hasn't quite dropped with one or two posters. This is the third or fourth time that FF has had to mention this subject and in increasingly warning tones. Her patience must be wearing thin. I know mine is.

I'd imagine that the huge majority of Catholics (especially in Liverpool) would roar with laughter at the not altogether inaccurate term for that utter eyesore of a cathedral ...
