People on the whole respond to what others have said, but they can focus on whatever aspect they wish. If someone criticises what another person has said, the response tends to focus on that point. You can't say everything in one post: the OP focused on apologies on the PM and MacKenzie and that's what people were discussing.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Not from me. Our focus needs to be on the media and the police and police federation but, as I have already stated, it should also be on the other emergency services involved in the incident itself as well as those who conducted the inquests and conducted and participated in the inquiries, those responsible in Parliament, the judiciary and the rest; our principal focus does not need to be on Simon!

Of course, you can do what you want, but I'm amazed you're wasting time and effort on such distractions. Or perhaps you don't think they're distractions? Mackenzie's error and Simon's apparent (to you) complacency really matter?

Aren't you now doing the selfsame thing you're criticising French Frank for. AIS?

(And now I'm caught up in doing the same thing! )

Well, you could be disussing the points that you think are important instead of wasting your time arguing the toss with me.

I'm relieved to hear it. Especially as it has largely resulted from reading something into my posts that wasn't there...

What would be your principal point of focus in the matter, Simon?

Are we supposed to just plough on regardless, then, in discussions, and ignore other peoples' comments?

It's one way of doing it, I suppose, but it could lead to a rather odd series of threads.

It's not my approach - I prefer to engage with what other people say .

As for me, I thnk there are many issues arising. On the whole I'm content to see how matters develop.

Yes, if, like your first post, they don't address the topic but simply attack other people's comments as being the the product of 'lefties'.
