I have illustrated my point by splitting the thread and opening a new one "Interview with Simon Rattle (Hay Festival) - Sky Arts", on Talking About Music.

Unsurprisingly it has fallen a long way down the list of What's New? ...
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

That's probably because we are all so depressed after the Jubbly that we are taking out our misery on each other ?
maybe we need something else to "pull us all together" ?

If you post your Sky programme recommendations on a thread (this one) where people are bickering about Murdoch, don't be surprised if you get unhelpful responses.

If there is a programme you think worth flagging up, start a new thread, title it informatively, and I will remove disruptive posts (if I see them or if you tell me about them) to this thread.

If your main interest is Sky, if you want to be continually posting about Sky, and you have nothing whatever to say about Radio 3 programmes, go and find a Sky forum to post on.
        OK then, I'm off.

A very small minority of posters here have made the whole thing more trouble than it's worth, and the fact is that, like many, I do listen to ClassicRadio3FM less and less these days. So perhaps it would be better for myself and everybody else if I moved on.

I have read some wonderful, intelligent posts over the years, and learned a lot, but clearly my enthusiasm for Sky is not welcome, and it seems that to certain posters that very enthusiasm is provocation in itself. I know some will not believe me, but that was never my intention.

So thank you everybody for some great fun and much musical education. And thank you FF for your moderation skills. I don't envy you.

So long. It was fun for a while.

It's your choice, Mr Pee. I have made it easy for you to post about relevant Sky programmes, and I have guaranteed to keep them free of disruption. It's up to you whether you feel that promoting Sky is your sole reason for posting - particularly when you are well aware of the political issues.
