I might add that I have no interest in arguments or squabbles.
Yes, me too. I will admit to being a bit puzzled by FF's post. The Mahler symphonies are certainly worth mentioning, as is the interview with Sir Simon- I missed that too, I must try and catch a repeat at some point. Thanks for drawing it to my attention.

I'm shocked to think that anyone would consider doing this

That's clever, BO - you manage to ignore yoiur own posts! (actually, putting you on ignore is rather a good idea, as I've never seen a post from you that isn't a juvenile 'insult')

You, & a few others, don't quite get the point that you have a thread where you can alert each other to BSB programmes (on the talking about music forum) & you got very disgruntled when I (& others) commented unfavourably on both the programming & ownership, & this part of the thread was separated from it. So it seems a little perverse (& provocative?) for you to start posting on here instead or the original thread.

You would know all about provocation, it seems.

It is not the thread for discussing or drawing attention to Sky programmes. That's perfectly allowable and such threads should not be sabotaged by anti-Murdoch comments.

Surely if one tells someone that they are ignoring them then they aren't
i'm sure there are lots of people who really DO ignore others (much in the same way that I avoid listening to Elgar's Dream of..........)

but some like to use it in what one might call a "passive aggressive" way ......... (not mentioning anyone in particular )

And I posted with in an effort to clarify...

If you post your Sky programme recommendations on a thread (this one) where people are bickering about Murdoch, don't be surprised if you get unhelpful responses.

If there is a programme you think worth flagging up, start a new thread, title it informatively, and I will remove disruptive posts (if I see them or if you tell me about them) to this thread.

If your main interest is Sky, if you want to be continually posting about Sky, and you have nothing whatever to say about Radio 3 programmes, go and find a Sky forum to post on.

Steady on French he is going to need to ride that bike later and it doesn't help if you boot him up the arse while he is trying to get back on

(given that this is an "argument" thread)

Yes, it is an argument thread and it's in the Diversions Forum - which means it can't be read by non-members and thus lower the forum's reputation for serious, intelligent debate ...

But not on this thread, which is the point that ff (& I) was making, in very simple language, but which you stil don't seem to understand. Next time perhaps it should be written like a Rupert Bear strip - with each sylable separated by a hyphen.

I made the original posting about Simon Rattle. It was in the interval of a programme I had discovered by accident and which I knew others would enjoy. So I hurriedly looked for somewhere to post it. I saw BSkyB as a title and thought it might be a suitable place. I was wrong. I was not being deliberately perverse and certainly not provocative. I do not follow the petty arguments on these boards, so I was unaware of a 'divided post'.

It seems to me that the petty bickering is ruining these boards as a place for sharing views on points of interest to those who listen to R3 (which must include television broadcasts surely).

Is that the approved form of essay layout at UN ?

                              Rupert Bear? As in:

                              Flossie's in an awful mood.
When she is, she's very rude.

Sorry, I don't normally get involved in bickering but that was asking for it. Now I'll retire to my garden.
